A document that has been translated by a duly authorized certified translator appointed by the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is thus recognized by the Costa Rican Government and may be legalized to be used internationally.

No, only duly authorized certified translators appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can issue certified translations. Furthermore, pursuant to applicable law, each page must bear the translator’s official seal and his/her registered signature.

Yes; all of our translators are duly certified by Costa Rica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their information is as follows:

At Tiger House Translations, we value our customers and their time; to that end, we do our best to translate and deliver your documents on the same day they are submitted. Typically, our normal turnaround times are faster than our competitors´. Nonetheless, turnaround times are subject to the project’s length and complexity.

Turnaround times for some of the documents that are most commonly translated from Spanish to English (or vice versa) are the following:

We offer two different rates: one for certified translations and one for commercial translations. Certified translation rates are regulated by the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in accordance to Executive Decree No. 34292-RE.*

* Subject to changes as rates are annually reviewed by the establishing Committee. Prices include Value Addex Tax.

** Subject to upcharges depending on urgency and technical or specialized vocabulary.

In that case you can request a certified copy of your certified translation. Certified copies of translations also bear the certified translator’s official seal and signature and possess the same validity as the original translation. The rate of a certified copy is equal to 50% of the original translation rate.

We need you to send us either a hard copy or a soft copy of your source-document (original document to be translated). You can send us a soft copy of your document to info@thetigerhouse.com. If you send us a printed version it must be the original document and not a copy thereof. If you send us a digital version, please make sure you send the entire document. In case you send us a scanned copy of your documents, please make sure that all pages are legible.

At Tiger House Translations we handle our customers’ documents with the utmost care and confidentiality, thus we can assure you that no one will modify, damage, lose, or read them. However, if you still don’t feel comfortable leaving it with us, we will gladly reproduce it and work with a copy thereof.

It depends on the type of document you had translated. Costa Rican documents that are going to be used abroad should be taken to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that they can authenticate the signatures appearing therein and in the translation. Tiger House Translations can help you with this authentication procedure.

Foreign documents that are going to be used in Costa Rica need only to be translated into Spanish by a certified translator before you present them to the pertinent authority.
